Dark stage with minimum lightings because of power saving under serious electric crisis after the 3.11 earthquake and tsunami, which caused Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster on going. But this accidental twilight brought me rather a good effect on B/W photography using an old lens made in West Germany 1970s. Enough to illuminate the world - the Creator made it in light and shadow.

震災と原発事故による電力危機のさなか、ライブハウスのステージ照明も節電で半分に落とされている。この薄明かりが、旧西ドイツ製レンズで撮る白黒写真にかえって良い効果をもたらした。本来、明かりはこれでじゅうぶんなのだ。世界は光と影でできている。

At this session, I started to use again the old manual lens after its 20 year long sleep.

20年ぶりに引っぱり出した完全マニュアルのプラナーレンズをまた使い始めたのが、このライブ。（写真の後に詳しい記述。）

現像してみたこの1ショットで思い知らされた。「プラナーの描写力、やっぱ凄いや！」

マウントアダプターが使えるミラーレス一眼オリンパスPENを型落ちでわりと安く買ったので、1980～90年代に愛用していた重たい「西ドイツ製」のコンタックス用単焦点レンズCarl Zeiss Planar 85mm/F1.4をおそるおそるまた使ってみた。
フォーサーズカメラに付けると170ミリ相当、けっこう望遠だ。被写体のギタリストは特に前後の動きが激しい。マニュアルでのピント合わせには正直言って自信がなかった。実際、1ステージ50分余りの間に366回シャッターを切ったが、半分以上はピンボケか手ブレのミスショットだった。それだけにショットがピタッと決まった瞬間の快感はたまらない。
カメラ本体はISO 1600、最初なので試しに1/125秒に設定。絞り開放は避けてF2～F4の間で撮影。露出不足で暗すぎる写真が多かったが、ピントがきっちり撮れた写真は、階調豊かで、しかもコントラストは強めというプラナーレンズの持ち味が際立ち、自分でも期待以上の撮れ具合だった。
それまでの半年間、ニコンD60にSIGMA 18-125mmズームレンズを着け、カメラまかせのプログラムAEで、同じバンド（ROUGH JUSTICE / O.E. Gallagher）を撮り続けてみたが、カメラとして、つまり記録装置としてはどっちが優れているとかいうのではなく、表現手段としての写真は次元が違う感じだ。
デジカメ時代になってから写真を撮る面白さを見失いかけていた。写真が面白かった時代に愛用したレンズが、デジカメ時代になって長年の眠りを経た今やっと･･･テクノロジーの恩恵で思いがけず蘇生したことにより---、そして、暗闇の中で電子制御に頼れない機材を片手に、何よりも、ヌルい演奏は決して聴かせないハードロック・バンドの前に立つことにより、写真に対するファイトが俄然またわいてきた。
